WHAM!

This was a fun piece. I've loved Popeye, especially the brilliant Fliescher Brothers studio animated cartoons. So funny and well done, blowing away Disney animation at the time. 

 Anyway, this was for the official Popeye Anniversary art show at Hero Complex Gallery. One of four - not counting my artists proof. 

Wanted to do something fun, and show all the major players of the ol' Thimble Theater newspaper strip cartoons and the Fliescher animated shorts. Thought Popeye knocking Bluto out would be appropriate, then it just morphed into Popeye literally knocking Bluto right out of the frame.

Another piece! This one, of course, is a papercut homage to the incomparable Drsgon's Lair from Don Bluth studios. Done for Bottleneck Gallery's video game show. Daphne there was very very tiny.

Mr. Peabody and Sherman in "when to today, Mr. Peabody?"

The shadow box paper cut out piece has blinking lights, an electric generator effect, and two spinning elements. Best part is it sold! I think I'll do another motorized shadow box sometime...

Sheelah at DesignerCon booth 826!

Thats where I'll be, booth 826 at DesignerCon this coming weekend. I'll have some new customs for sale (coming soon!) and sculptures on display if you're curious to see. Hope to see you folks there, come and say Hi.

The Sheelahs are multiplying...

I wish it was as easy as pouring water on the master prototype to get more of them, but it's not... Anyway, there are about a dozen of the girls nearly ready for DesignerCon, and then more after for those not at the show. 

I'll show pics of her in her packaging very soon.. 

Revamped, redesigned, resculpted SHEELAH!

It's been a while since my last update, but I haven't been just sitting around! Nope, some things I've been working on I can show you, and others I can't. This one though, I can - the redesigned and resculpted (with the digital wizardry of Tim Jones) Sheelah custom platform toy. I really like how she came out and I'm happier with her than the last version. I'll be trying to cast her up and have some available at DesignerCon this year, and maybe a custom or two that I've done of her, with luck!

Scott Tolleson's Bitta Critta

Since Scott unveiled Bitta this past weekend, I got the go ahead for posting pics of the WIP and finished sculpt I did for it - so here they are! Hope folks will like how it came out.

Their next show, Game On! is all video game inspired and I'm looking forward to seeing what the other artists are doing!

These were both done as commission work and were a lot of fun. I plan on doing some more dragon dunnys soon, once I finish with another commission in the works...

And finally, the Red Skull Tribe is done. 3 orcs and 3 goblins, they were a lot of fun to work on. They should all be off to their new home very soon...
